Your expectations were shot,
lost all faith in the plot
of the tale you’ve been telling for ages.
Now you’re the one to be heard!
Kickin out at the world!
Come on now get a taste of this life!
You can’t see
the gem that you’re supposed to be.
And I’ll be by your side
I’ll tell you to shine
To shine
Is this how you want this to be?
Sitting up in your tree?
Come on down, show your face in the fight now!
Cast all the cynics aside
You know your mother was right
Their life is one of the cushioned walls and…
You can’t see
the gem that you’re supposed to be.
And I’ll be by your side
I’ll tell you to shine
(Come on, come on!)
You’re the one to break it!
(Come on, come on!)
This wall that you’ve created.
(Come on, come on!)
If there’s anyone to take it!
(Come on, come on!)
It’s you!
(Come on, come on!)
You’re the one to break it!
(Come on, come on!)
This wall that you’ve created.
(Come on, come on!)
If there’s anyone to take it!
(Come on, come on!)
It’s you

Walking down the street with a love life chained down to my feet
Walk away now, it’s been days now
All of a sudden she was standing there
With no make-up on and that green-eyed stare
Walk away now, run away now
As soon as I slowed down my pace
Everywhere I saw her face
and thought of all
The love she’d sing to me and all the joy she’d bring to me
Looking for Lily-Ann
Looking for Lily-Ann
Can make me sooooo
She kept me swaying back and forth
Between the cash machine and the recordstore
It’s been days now, it’s been days now
As soon as I slowed down my pace
Everywhere I saw her face
and thought of
The love she’d sing to me and all the joy she’d bring to me
Looking for Lily-Ann
Looking for Lily-Ann
Can make me sooooo
As soon as I slowed down my pace
Everywhere I saw her face
and thought of
The love she’d sing to me and all the joy she’d bring to me
Looking for Lily-Ann

I see right through you, but
you don't even have the right to tell me now.
I don't think you have the right to tell me now
but you do, you say you do
Well, this is new to me
‘cause I had never had the time to figure out.
Give me a little bit of time to figure out how
I want this all to be.
And oh I know, she knows,
but every time i just can't shake this
No, she's fine, but every time I just won't take this
Now!
Will she go all the way?
But there's still this price to pay.
Can everyone just stop?
Oh no…
I'm not that social, but
free association might just give me some,
indeterminate tale to spin upon you.
Believe me when I do,
Say that I’m lonely now.
And I wouldn't mind to spend the night with you.
If it wasn't for the fact that I am held back,
by years of history.
And oh I know, she knows,
but every time i just can't shake this
No, she's fine, but every time I just won't take this
Now!
Will she go all the way?
But there's still this price to pay.
Can everyone just stop?
Oh no…
But remember when this is through,
I will be better of without you.
If all the things that you said were true,
then I would be better of without you.
Without you.

What did I do?
I just assumed that nothing was wrong.
I went along on my path, to the bar or some other grand objective as a metaphor.
What did you do?
You turned around, directed a smack at the back of my head.
It’s not that you don’t love me, but fights like these never seem to be fair.
And I know,
although you may disagree,
that you hate to love me.
But I tend to believe that you ain’t that naïve.
Everything’s yours now I know that you’re mine.
Let’s just pretend that everything’s fine.
Fine.
And now what’s left, is to decide whether this makes us slip over and fall.
Is this all? Is this everything that this was ever gonna be?
I guess I’ll see, because time is the only way to find it out in the end.
We depend on each other just as much as we believe that we do.
And I know,
although you may disagree,
that you hate to love me.
But I tend to believe that you ain’t that naïve.
Everything’s yours now I know that you’re mine.
Let’s just pretend that everything’s fine.
Fine.
Every time we dance my feet aren’t right
and I see in your eyes what I try to deny.
My timing is off and my feet aren’t right
And I see in your eyes what I try to deny
And every time I fucking die.
And I know,
although you may disagree,
that you hate to love me.
But I tend to believe that you ain’t that naïve.
Everything’s yours now I know that you’re mine.
Let’s just pretend that everything’s fine.
Fine.
